At ACS, we specialize in providing comprehensive erosion control services that are essential for protecting both land and water resources. Erosion, particularly in areas undergoing construction or landscaping, can lead to soil loss, sediment runoff, and even structural damage. To prevent these issues, we implement a range of effective erosion control measures tailored to the unique needs of each project.
One of the key techniques we use is silt fencing, which acts as a barrier to prevent sediment from leaving the site and entering nearby waterways. This method is especially useful on construction sites, where disturbed soil is more prone to erosion. By strategically placing silt fences, we ensure that soil remains contained, reducing environmental impact and preventing costly fines for non-compliance.
We also offer hydroseeding, a process that involves spraying a mixture of seed, mulch, and fertilizer onto the soil to establish vegetation quickly. This fast-growing vegetation helps to stabilize the soil, reducing erosion while enhancing the appearance of the landscape. Hydroseeding is particularly effective on slopes and large areas where other methods may not be feasible.
In addition to these techniques, we provide erosion matting and blankets, which are placed over vulnerable areas to protect the soil from wind and water erosion. These materials are biodegradable and promote plant growth, further strengthening the soil's resistance to erosion over time.
Our team also ensures SW3P compliance (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) for construction sites. SW3P compliance refers to ensuring that an erosion control device is properly installed and maintained on a weekly basis, as outlined in an 80 to 100-page document. This document details the regulations and practices required to prevent soil erosion and manage stormwater runoff, helping to keep pollutants from entering local water systems. By implementing SW3P best practices, we help our clients meet regulatory requirements while safeguarding the environment.
Our silt fences prevent soil erosion and sediment runoff on construction sites. These permeable barriers allow water to flow while trapping sediment, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Installed along the perimeter, they provide essential protection against soil displacement caused by rain, wind, or construction activities.
We offer Erosion Control Blankets (ECB) & Erosion Control Mats (ECM), including Curlex, Turf Reinforcement Mats (TRM), and High-Performance TRMs (HPTRM). These mats stabilize slopes and prevent soil erosion, with Curlex promoting vegetation growth, while TRM and HPTRM provide extra reinforcement for high-risk areas, ensuring long-lasting soil stabilization.
Our Construction Entrance/Exit systems are essential for maintaining a clean, safe site and preventing sediment from being tracked onto public roads. By installing stabilized entrances and exits using durable materials like stone or geotextile fabrics, we reduce mud and debris carried by vehicles, keeping your project site compliant with environmental standards and ensuring a safer working environment.
This is to prevent sediment, debris, and pollutants from entering drainage systems during construction or land disturbance activities. Our solutions help maintain compliance with environmental regulations while protecting waterways from contamination. Designed to be durable and efficient, our storm inlet protection systems ensure your project site stays clean and environmentally responsible.
Our Tree and Debris Protection services ensure the preservation of natural vegetation during construction. We install protective barriers around trees and manage loose debris to prevent soil erosion. This safeguards the landscape while maintaining the integrity of your project and the surrounding environment.
We construct Rock Berms to filter and slow down water runoff, preventing erosion on construction sites. These natural stone barriers help reduce sediment flow while offering durable, long-term erosion control in areas prone to water displacement and surface instability. Similarly, Rock Check Dams are used in channels to slow water flow, reducing its erosive potential. These smaller, strategically placed barriers help capture sediment while allowing water to pass through at a controlled rate, providing additional stability in areas with concentrated runoff.
Rip-rap consists of large stones strategically placed to protect slopes, shorelines, and water channels from erosion. This method provides robust protection against water damage, reinforcing areas susceptible to high water flow, making it ideal for long-term stabilization in challenging environments. Rip-rap can be installed either grouted or non-grouted, with grouted rip-rap offering extra stability by locking the stones in place, while non-grouted allows for better water filtration and flexibility in certain conditions.
We offer Gabion baskets and Reno mattresses. These wire mesh structures, filled with stones, stabilize slopes, riverbanks, and streambeds. Gabion baskets are ideal for retaining walls, while Reno mattresses protect flatter areas. Both solutions provide long-term stability and effective erosion protection in high-risk environments.
Our methods of Vegetative Establishment include planting grasses, and seeds to naturally stabilize soil and decrease erosion. These plantings serve to stabilize the soil and improve the area's beauty, supporting biodiversity and ecological well-being.
Our team installs Straw waddles, Excelsior waddles, and Rice soxx to slow water runoff and trap sediment. These cylindrical barriers, filled with natural materials, are perfect for stabilizing slopes and water channels, offering an environmentally friendly solution to erosion in both small and large projects.
Our Concrete Washout services ensure the safe disposal of concrete waste, preventing runoff that can cause soil erosion and contamination. We provide proper containment systems to handle washout effectively, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations while keeping your site clean and environmentally friendly.
We install Hay Dikes and compacted hay bale barriers to control water flow and reduce soil erosion. These temporary dikes effectively capture sediment in high-risk areas, offering an eco-friendly, cost-efficient solution for short-term erosion control during construction or landscaping projects.
The Faircloth Stormwater Skimmer is a tool designed to enhance post-construction stormwater management systems by protecting the outlet and improving performance. By skimming water from the surface, it helps reduce Total Suspended Solids (TSS), which can lead to more efficient system designs that might require less space. As a Best Management Practice (BMP) for sediment basins, the Faircloth Skimmer® operates by floating on the water's surface as the basin fills and drains. Unlike conventional outlets that drain from the bottom, it releases cleaner surface water. Its adjustable orifice helps regulate how quickly the basin fills and empties, allowing for more effective sediment settling by slowly releasing water over a few days at a constant rate.
